Bulgaria is a Slavic country with a historical background of Mediterranean culture. Do not forget that the first king of Bulgaria ‐founded in 681‐ belonged to the Byzantine empire until 1019 and was later dominated by the Turkish until 1878 ‐ more than any other country of the Balkans. This provoked a cultural and commercial isolation with the rest of Europe. The difficult relationship between Bulgaria and its neighbouring countries (Turkey, Russia, Greece and Balkan countries) has made the Bulgarians suspiciuos and mistrustful people with foreigners; however, they are very hospitable.

  • To do business in Bulgaria it is necessary to visit the country on several occasions. Personal treatment is very important.
