Free trade agreement (FTA)

An arrangement that establishes unimpeded exchange and flow of goods and services between trading partners, regardless of national borders of member countries. FTAs do not address labour mobility across borders, common currencies, uniform standards and other common policies such as taxes. Member countries apply their own individual tariff rates to countries outside the free trade area.
