A broad term for legally binding arrangements covered by international law between or among countries. Such arrangements are variously titled as treaties, conventions, protocols, annexes, accords and memoranda of understanding, notes, pacts, declarations, statutes, constitutions and processes-verbal. The title is not an important factor in making distinctions among arrangements.
